Jellystone! is an American animated comedy series for HBO Max, created by C. H. Greenblatt and produced by Warner Bros. Animation. It presents odd, reimagined versions of classic Hanna-Barbera characters living together in the fictional town of Jellystone. The show ran from July 29, 2021, to March 6, 2025, across three seasons and 77 episodes.
Greenblatt, a longtime fan of Hanna-Barbera, began developing the series in January 2020 alongside director Careen Ingle and writer-storyboard artist Hannah Ayoubi. Rather than recreating past adventures, the team decided to place every character in a single town, altering some core traits to make them more likable and appealing to modern audiences. This is the first series to feature many Hanna-Barbera icons—such as Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound—since *Yo Yogi!* (1991), the first production after the closure of the Hanna-Barbera studios, and the first TV series to include them without founders William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, who died in 2001 and 2006, respectively.
Episodes run 11 minutes, except for three 22-minute specials in season three. The first season had 21 episodes, mostly paired together but produced as separate 11-minute segments, including the standalone Halloween episode "Spell Book." Season two debuted on March 17, 2022, with 19 episodes. On March 2, 2022, a third season of 40 episodes was announced, later cut to 37 to accommodate the 22-minute specials. A 22-minute special titled "Crisis on Infinite Mirths," featuring Cartoon Network characters, serves as the series finale in production order. The first half of season three arrived on Max on February 22, 2024, and the second half on March 6, 2025.
The series reimagines Hanna-Barbera characters as a modern ensemble living, working, and playing together, solving their own problems. Each has a specific role: Huckleberry Hound is mayor, Yogi Bear a surgeon, Cindy Bear a genius inventor, Doggie Daddy an overprotective lighthouse keeper for his daughter Augie Doggie, Jabberjaw and Loopy De Loop work at Magilla's haberdashery, Top Cat and his gang continue their scams, El Kabong is both teacher and superhero, Shazzan sells tickets at the Jellystone Theatre, and The Banana Splits are cartoonish criminals.
