The series follows Hubert, a sensitive, cultivated, hypochondriacal pig who aspires to be a modern, clean-cut individual, and Takako, a peppy, enthusiastic, yet sarcastic and rambunctious fly. Takako's presence constantly disrupts Hubert's well-ordered life, serving as the little glitch in his well-oiled cogs. Despite his arrogance and hypocrisy, Hubert ultimately has a good heart, while Takako, though fond of irritating him, generally means him no real harm.

Hubert is voiced in French by François-Xavier Demaison and in English by Joe Ochman (credited as B.J. Oakie). Takako is voiced in French by Charlotte Le Bon and in English by Marieve Herington (credited as Lindsay Torrence). The opening sequence was composed by Vincent Artaud. Overseas animation was provided by Malaysian studio Inspidea, with additional animation from Caribara Animation's Montreal divisions and Toutenkartoon Canada.
